Karen's Approach
"I consider myself to be an active-directive therapist. I use empathy and give you feedback and suggestions along with things to practice at home. I am NOT one of those therapists who just sits and listens without giving you any input. As one of my clients told me, I am a straight shooter! My clients appreciate my direct approach and tell me they have been frustrated in the past with therapists who are passive. Normally I work with clients short term with the normal range being 6 to 12 sessions for individuals, couples, or families. Then I like to be available to work with clients through their life span with them returning for a few sessions whenever they need or desire. By continuing to work with the same therapist who is familiar with you, clients can save time and money."
