Oils to Boost Immunity for Colds and Flu
To prepare for winter, I am getting a few products on hand from Young
Living Essential Oils to protect myself and my family from viruses and
bacteria. Young Living Essential Oils are high quality therapeutic grade
essential oils that you can trust. Oils from health food stores and other
places may not be the quality you might think they are.
I am excited about the new Thieves Spray! Thieves has a 99% kill rate against air borne bacteria according to research done at Weber State University. Thieves is a combination of oils that robbers used during the 15th century plague to keep themselves from getting ill while robbing plague victims. It smells great! I plan to order one for my family members to take on our cruise in December. My whole extended family is going, so that will be 4 rooms to protect. You have all heard the press about viruses on cruise ships. I think if each room we are in has the spray, we can protect ourselves at least in our own rooms. I am tempted to carry the spray around with me and spray it as I go, but people would probably think I had gone overboard!
Have you heard about the research done on hotel rooms where all sorts of body fluids were found on bedspreads and the carpet? Spray the Thieves in your hotel room and on the bedspread to kill those germs. Next I plan to order a Thieves spray for my office because people come in with colds and flu and using the spray can keep me from getting all of it! In the meantime until the spray is back in stock, you can sprinkle the Thieves oil from the bottle in your room or put it in a spray bottle with a little water. Just be sure to shake it up each time before you spray it because the oils tend to float on top the water.
Another way I keep myself healthy is with Raindrop Therapy every two weeks when I get a massage. This involves dropping the oils of oregano, thyme, wintergreen, basil, cypress, peppermint, and marjoram along the spine. Oregano also has over a 99% kill rate against air borne bacteria and Thyme is likewise a powerful antioxidant. Between those two weeks, I place a few drops of Thieves, oregano, or thyme on my hand and rub them into my spine if I feel any symptoms coming on or if I have been exposed to something. If I feel a sore throat coming on, I rub some Thieves on the sides of my neck. Recently, I had a very bad outer ear infection. I took a q-tip and placed a drop of Thieves on it and placed it on the sore part of my ear and rubbed it all around the outside of my ear. Needless to say, it burned on the inside, so then I placed a drop of Lavender oil over the Thieves. I did this several times over the course of two days and the ear infection went away! No doctor visit needed!
Lavender stops the burning and is great to use if Thieves, oregano, or thyme ever burns on your skin.
Young Living carries Thieves lozenges, which are very potent to kill viruses and bacteria in your body. They go far beyond ordinary cough drops to actually get at the source of your problem. I don't know about you, but I like the idea of taking care of my health needs through natural means. And I like the idea of not having to spend money and time on doctors if I can cure myself. I like to be empowered! Anyway, in August I took my son to the doctor for an infected bug bite that he had when he arrived from Dallas to go to KU this fall. If I had been able to treat it with Purification and Thieves, it probably would not have gotten so bad. Next time I go to the doctor's office, I am taking my Thieves spray with me! And I am going to order a spray for my son's fraternity room. Those boys' rooms seem to be full of germs and smells!
There is also a new household cleaner made with Thieves that has all natural ingredients. It is good for the environment and safe for you.
History: Essential oils have been used as far back as Biblical
times and before. Remember the oils of Frankincense and Myrrh?
